What is business coaching?

Business coaching is the process of getting businesspeople from the place where they are to the place where they want to be. A good coach helps you to clarify what you actually want.  Then, with that knowledge, a coach helps you to create a plan that will help you to get what you want. And, finally, a good coach holds you accountable so that you can succeed.


Isn’t coaching just another word for therapy?

No. Generally, talk therapy works with the idea that there is something from the past that needs to be fixed to move forward in the present. But, coaching is rooted in the fundamental belief that you use the tools you already have at your disposal to make positive and lasting choices that promote change in the present.

Coaching is never a substitute for psychotherapy.  If you have emotional challenges that are holding you back please contact a professional psychotherapist.


How does a coaching session work?

Sessions are 50 minutes long, and happen over the phone or through a video platform. I try to meet with all my clients at least once in person. Session happen weekly for between 12-24 weeks. After that time, it is generally best to take your learning and apply it independently of a coach. After 24 weeks, I will occasionally meet with clients once a month on an on-going basis, but my job is generally to make sure you don’t need me.


What does coaching cost?

Coaching costs depend on the number of sessions and the format of the sessions, though generally the cost of a coaching engagement is similar to the cost of single professional development conference.


Do you call me or do I call you?

You call me.  It ensures that you are ready for your call. If for any reason, you need to cancel or reschedule your call, please be in touch at least 24 hours before your scheduled call or I will charge for the session.
